Several weeks ago, in attempts to keep our clients and community safe, we put in an order for masks. However, we quickly learned that the masks were on backorder and would take quite some time to arrive. Faced with growing concern and even fear, we decided to reach out to the community for help.
That call was answered by Ally Holt, who saw the request via social media and thought of her seventeen-year-old daughter, Pyper Holt. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Pyper has been busy sewing masks to donate to the high-risk population.
This thoughtful young lady delivered the masks to our office earlier this month, while finishing up her junior year at Pine View High School. Among her amazing talent as a cross- country runner and track athlete, she, of course, enjoys sewing, and working as a lifeguard. Her goal is to graduate next year and attend college where she can pursue a degree in social work.
Although she didn't want to be given credit for her actions, we are very grateful to Pyper for her thoughtful actions! The impact of her donation extends beyond the recipients of the masks, to include those who care for these individuals, their loved ones, and the community as a whole.
If you or someone you know would like to make a similar donation, please contact Tracy Heavyrunner at 435-673-3548 or by email: theavyrunner@fivecounty.utah.gov.
